And for goodness’ sake, refrain from copying Eliza Doolittle of ‘My Fair Lady’. If someone isn’t moving fast enough in the street, it is not a good idea to shout at them to “Move your bloomin’ arse!”

HOW ABOUT THE ACCENT?
If the slang is merely a legend, what about that coarse accent? Is a good imitation of Bert in ‘Mary Poppins’ the key to integrating into London life? Unfortunately not.
